About Me
I have always been interested in people, communities and ritual and have a passion for beauty, creativity and making a difference to people’s lives. I enjoy designing and creating events and have organised many occasions from national conferences to birthday parties.
I was drawn to celebrancy through organising naming ceremonies for my own children and so know from experience the significance and pleasure to be had from a personalised ceremony which truly reflects your own beliefs and feelings.
Being a celebrant is a highly responsible role. Your ceremony only happens once and it needs to be just right. I have a lot of skills, experience and training which I draw on to design thoughtful and engaging ceremonies that are also well organised and professional. I am a published author and an experienced public speaker with a recent CRB check.
My background is in social and consumer research, writing and project leadership. I have worked for blue chip companies, universities, charities and small businesses. I have held a variety of roles; all have involved working closely with people to discover their needs and desires and to communicate these to others in effective and inspirational ways. I am a good listener and have supported and helped others in emotionally difficult situations, including bereavement and terminal illness. I have a Terrence Higgins Trust certificate in HIV/AIDS counselling.
As an independent celebrant I will put your beliefs and desires at the heart of what I do.
